The school counselor is a full time professional at Vienna Elementary School who provides services to students, parents, and teachers. Mrs. Karen Fisher provides the following services:
- Individual counseling – when students are self, teacher, parent or staff referred.
- Group counseling – topics such as study skills, changing families, friendship, social skills and orientation for new students, are addressed.
- Classroom counseling – teaching topics which include: bullying prevention, study and test taking skills, stress management, communication skills, tolerance, etc.
- Parent support – which includes parent conferences, referrals to community and private agencies, parenting information and workshops.
- Special Vienna Elementary Programs include:
- Student Ambassadors
- Be a Vienna HERO
- Peer Mediation
- Thumbs Up – we caught you being good!
