About Us
Vienna Elementary School is a rural school situated on the edge of the small town of Vienna, Maryland. We have 193 students in grades Pre-K through 5, with two classes each in grades K-3 and one for the pre-k, fourth, and fifth grade. Parents serve on various committees, help in the classroom, and provide general support for our children and our programs. Various community organizations have contributed time, expertise, and finances to enhance our school programs. The school is an integral part of the Vienna community, just as the community is an integral part of Vienna School.
While Vienna continuously strives to provide a positive and successful educational experience for all of our students, we are very proud of having been named a Maryland and national Blue Ribbon School for 1998-1999. We have also received national recognition for the works of the “Just Say No” to Drugs Club and for our environmental awareness program which includes the establishment of an extensive schoolyard habitat.
Our
Vision
We are aware that students have different learning styles and we believe in regarding children as individuals as we meet their physical, emotional, social, and academic needs.
We strive to instill in our students the values of self-discipline, a positive work ethic, and a readiness to accept challenges. We prize effort as much as achievement. Our vision is that our students will become caring and productive, as well as socially and environmentally responsible citizens.
